Real nutrition is simple

Once I heard on PBS a nutritionist say how much our nutrition is really basic. We only need the 8 classes of amino acids from proteins to generate the 22 needed, carbs and fat. That’s it. One could live on a few ingredients in their lives and be happy.

The same nutritionist said how much the food industry distorts sliver of a sliver of a correlation from studies and inflates it to borderline illegal claims degree (with of course lawyers stepping in to make sure the claims are razor distance from illegality). The anti-fat craze and psychosis is the most blatant example. And he said Nutrition as a field is imprecise and really clueless amid all the food industry’s distortions. This opened my eyes.

Personally I simplified my diet and made it minimalistic to an extreme: bananas, avocados and some canned fish. That’s it. Been years now.

I am lean, fit and only suffer when I am dragged to an occasional lunch or dinner at a restaurant where my body takes days if not weeks to recover.

A few basic foods cover all the bases. Literally. I mean per Evolutionary Biology 101 our ancestors had only wild fruits and the occasional big game brought by the hunters to feast on. Salt and spices were extremely rare and expensive but salt was at least plentiful from the sea and some mines.

That’s it. Our whole digestive tract and body is meant for this simple diet. The rest is just supertimuli-derived psychopathic exploitation of food conglomerates. And the results are in with massive obesity, heart failures, organs surrounded by chemicals and hormonal issues.

If you want to live per the tenets of logic and minimalism KISS: Keep it SIMPLE STUPID. Go for the high quality simple stuff. Fruits and basics, not cooked unless non processed. And you’ll also notice how the good stuff, the quality ingredients are RARER, hard to find. And restaurants and especially fast food will bury any good stuff in a literal mountain of crap… processed carbs mostly that are useless to our bodies and make us sick.

Once you live with this your cleaned body will literally puke and reject anything complex and with chemicals. You will smell it from a mile away. Reject it.

Gulags and Stalingrad showed how resilient and simple our food needs are… with people living months or years with incredibly low quality simple diets.

Don’t be taken by marketing and the catering to our supertimulis. And remember good simple basic non processed food will taste good if you’re a bit hungry. We are hardwired to be always slightly hungry to look and forage for food, but this has been perverted to create addictive drugs we call fast food and complex recipe shown on specialized cable channels so we can gorge past our satiation point.

Our tastebuds are fine tuned for the basics, and perverted by anything from a restaurant to a fast food joint.

The pandemic disrupted food delivery and eliminated a lot of restaurants… but sadly no opportunity was seized to improve our diets.
